Caitlin Yanakeff, LMSW
Caitlin has been a practicing social worker for over seven years. She treats individuals ages 16 and up.
Treatment Philosophy and Focus
Caitlin uses a strengths-based focus while utilizing other evidenced-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing in her work with clients. She is committed to meeting individuals where they are at in treatment while empowering them to become the best version of themselves.
Education and Experience
Caitlin graduated from Eastern Michigan University with her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and then obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Prior to her work at the Wellness Institute, Caitlin held various clinical positions. She worked in a Community Mental Health setting serving adults and children diagnosed with a severe mental illness and/or developmental disability. She has done extensive work with the criminal justice system and was heavily involved in Mental Health Court, a pilot program that provided mental health treatment to misdemeanor and felony offenders. In addition to her current work at the Wellness Institute, Caitlin also serves as a clinical social worker on an adult inpatient psychiatric unit, treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
