Catherine Baughey, MA, LPC
Catherine works with adults, adolescents and children, she see’s patients 5 years old and up.
Treatment Philosophy and Focus
Catherine has a Humanistic and Behavioral approach; she recognizes the uniqueness of every individual and believes everyone has an innate capacity to grow to personal fulfillment. Catherine believes behaviors are learned and therefore can be unlearned. She also believes that an individual’s spiritual belief can assist in therapy and in the process of healing. She works with clients to solve present day problems by helping them to identify distorted thinking that causes emotional discomfort using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and by listening empathically and offering support and encouragement to each.
Education and Experience
Catherine received her Bachelors Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Psychology from Siena Heights College in 1992 and her Masters Degree in Community Counseling in 1998 from Siena Heights College. She has worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the capacity of a homebased and outpatient therapist for over 16 years.
Catherine has specialized training in trauma, domestic violence and sexual abuse. She has worked with clients who present with the following concerns:
