Treatment Philosophy and Focus
Jackie has worked with individuals 17 years and up seeking ways to cope and work through internal struggles, life transitions and challenges. Whether it be due to unexpected changes in life, self-exploration or desire to find your own version of peace within yourself, the journey to personal growth can be lit along the way with support and guidance through taking the steps towards your best self. Jackie integrates holistic approaches with a blend of evidence-based practices including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Techniques. The focus is on empowering individuals to increase self-compassion and build what they would like their life to look like.

Education and Experience
Jackie enjoyed a Social Work internship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation assisting in granting children & families wishes and First Step of Michigan volunteer work at Michigan’s first domestic violence shelter while completing undergraduate work towards a Bachelor’s of Science Degree double majoring in psychology & sociology at the University of Michigan Dearborn. While completing a Master’s of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology from Madonna University, selected to provide outpatient therapy at the University of Michigan Dearborn completing a one year practicum treating incoming freshman to graduates, exploring career options & paths to stress management, grief issues and life challenges with many different family dynamics, situations, cultures, diagnoses, and trauma.

Jackie has over ten years experience working with Monroe County’s Community Mental Health Authority exploring various therapeutic, evidence based and holistic techniques to create person center goals unique to each individual and what worked best for their situation and struggles for all times in life. Starting out in Supports Coordination Clinical Case Management & after-hours emergency services providing safety plans & prescreens for ER & inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations, represented the county as the Hospital & Court Liaison for three years, supervised the State of Michigan grant to provide mental health services within the local jail & develop the county’s first mental health court Feb 2016 – Nov 2017, completed annual reassessments as Utilization Management Review UM/UR clinician for entire population of agency before accepting the Outpatient Therapist position providing individual and group therapy with a focus on trauma and integrated health.
