John Cantu, LLPC
John provides therapy and counseling services to a wide variety of individuals including couples, families, children, and adolescents exhibiting behavioral disorders. John also works with adults with substance abuse concerns, addiction, and he also performs crisis intervention. John is also bilingual and can speak both Spanish and English.
John understands that taking the first step towards seeking therapy and counseling can be a difficult one, therefore his goal is to make the process as welcoming as possible. John believes that every person has the potential to reach his or her highest level of functionality in life. However, this can sometimes be disrupted by abuse, addiction, mental and health disorders, loss, divorce, etc. John’s goal is to treat each client with the utmost care, exhibiting compassion while providing a customized treatment therapy plan that will lead the individual towards a path of success.
John earned his Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, Texas. His corporate background provides extensive experience allowing him to work with individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression in their work environments. John’s experience includes working with adolescents, adults, and seniors who struggle with a wide range of issues. John’s clinical work includes using cognitive therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy, which empowers clients to reach their full potential and overcome their struggles. His experience also includes working with anxiety disorder, depression, conduct disorder, phobias, and mood disorders as well as grief and loss, pain management, and anger issues.
