Clinical Hypnotherapy
Erica Holman is a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW) with a Level 2 certification in clinical hypnotherapy from ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnotherapy). The ASCH certification is only awarded to licensed professionals in good standing and requires an ethical commitment to promote the evidence informed practice of clinical hypnotherapy.
What hypnotherapy is NOT. It is NOT mind control. The client is in total control of the process. You cannot be hypnotized to do anything you do not want to do. It does NOT give control to the hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy only works for people willing to enter a deep flow state.
Clinical hypnotherapy can be described as a mind-body treatment approach that works by establishing a state of deep relaxation that also focuses concentration. Hypnotherapy can allow a person to enter into a deeper flow state of understanding and problem solving. The hypnotherapist may provide visual or auditory images and cues based on the client’s self-identified needs to solve problems, address phobias, reduce anxiety or depression.
Erica uses clinical hypnotherapy to support traditional medicine and as a component of psychotherapy for people wishing to use it. Erica’s expertise in clinical hypnotherapy includes integrative pain management, depression, anxiety including test and performance anxiety, and phobias.
