Matthew has been practicing as a licensed professional counselor for over seven years. He treats couples and individuals ages 15 and up.

Treatment Philosophy & Focus

Matthew’s therapeutic approach is customized to the personality and presenting needs of his clients. Matthew is a passionate, caring, professional who focuses on helping clients achieve their personal and/or relational goals. He offers a non-judgmental approach and facilitates patient(s) movement toward meeting their treatment goals. Emphasis in treatment is building communication skills, self-empowerment and healing so the individual gains insight in their life.

Education & Experience

Matthew graduated from Spring Arbor University with his Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry and received his Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Matthew has years of combined experience working in a variety of clinical settings. He worked for a Community Mental Health, a juvenile justice program in Detroit, rehabilitation programs specializing in traumatic brain injury recovery and private practice focusing on addictions treatment. Matthew works with teens, men, women, and couples.

In his free time, Matthew likes to spend time with his family and friends. He loves sports, fitness, holistic wellness and sustainable plant based living.
