Michael has 7 years of experience working with clients with a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, gender dysphoria, anger management, adjustment disorders, personality disorders such as bi-polar, schizoaffective disorders, and cognitive impairment.

Treatment Philosophy & Focus

Michael believes in a person centered and solution focused approach focused on building a therapeutic relationship to process the client’s identified goals. He is passionate about being a part of the client’s journey in finding their voice and empowering clients to embrace the change they desire. He utilizes an eclectic approach to addressing client’s needs including cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, and systems approach.

Education & Experience

Michael received his undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan University in Criminal Justice and his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Central Michigan University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Michael has worked at a juvenile detention center, long term residential placements for adolescents, crisis residential programs for adolescents, and in outpatient settings for a community mental health agency. Michael has experience in providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, families, couples, and the LBGTQ community. He also has experience providing therapeutic services in both individual and group settings.
