Kim is a licensed clinical social worker who has provided counseling and advocacy services to individuals and families for over a decade. She focuses on supporting teen and adult clients with healing from relationship and sexual violence, recovering from trauma and grief, and coping with depression, anxiety, and other life challenges.

Treatment Philosophy & Focus

Kim practices trauma-informed supportive therapy that draws from various treatment approaches and evidence-based modalities. By utilizing a blend of techniques, Kim provides client-centered care that is unique to your experiences. She honors the vulnerability and courage that engaging in therapy requires and infuses warmth and humor into building a trusting therapeutic relationship with you. She strives to create a safe, compassionate space for you to openly explore your concerns. She also uses an empowerment lens to support you in identifying your strengths, practicing new skills, and setting goals for growth. Kim is passionate about nurturing others on their healing journey and she is looking forward to helping you create positive change, too.

Education & Experience

Kim attended the University of Michigan for both her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her master’s degree in Social Work. Kim has extensive experience in treating trauma from working in community non-profit and university settings providing counseling and advocacy for survivors of all forms of interpersonal violence. Through working with survivors, Kim has gained knowledge in working with the complications that accompany trauma, such as grief and loss, anxiety and depression, and other impacts. She also has been trained in various evidence-based models, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
