Sarah Dorris is a licensed professional counselor who has been working with individuals and families in a clinical setting for over ten years.  She works with both adolescents and adults.

Treatment Philosophy & Focus

Sarah has always been interested in helping those that are suffering make a come-back.  She has achieved success in assisting those that are challenged and hurting in life with building resiliency, improving motivation, productively managing crises, and overcoming limitations brought about by trauma.

Sarah specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety disorders, depression, anger-management, and trauma. She utilizes various therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral and is certified in Dialectic Behavior Therapy to facilitate healthy and lasting change.

Education & Experience

Sarah obtained her Bachelor of Psychology at Siena Heights University, in Adrian, Michigan.  She then obtained her master’s degree in counseling, at Spring Arbor University.  After that, she began working in the mental health field as a home-based therapist for children and adolescents, adults, and families struggling with severe mental health symptoms.  She moved on to gain experience facilitating family therapy sessions and therapy groups at an inpatient setting in one of Michigan’s stand-alone psychiatric facilities before moving into private practice.
